Thankyou Baby Care - Your Questions Answered
One of my favourite things about my job is when parents tell me our baby care range worked for their bub.
Our Innovation team spent months testing and refining the range to create products that do what they are supposed to, and look and feel great while doing it. We even asked a group of parents to road-test the products to make sure! For us the range had to be premium, natural and a safe choice for families.Since the launch last year, we’ve been inundated with really positive feedback and a lot of great questions. So I thought I’d create a list of the ones we’re most commonly asked so you can find them in one easy place.
How often should I use Thankyou Baby Lotion?
Our gentle Baby Lotion was formulated for delicate baby skin and can be used after bath-time to keep skin nourished and moisturised. It’s made from a combination of rose hip, avocado and coconut oils, along with oat and chamomile extracts and is a beautiful combo with our Baby Bath Wash. We were especially careful to make sure our lotion isn’t greasy too, so bub will be smooth and soft and ready for bed-time after use.
How often should I use bath milk compared with baby bath wash?
Our Baby Bath Milk, made with plant-based oils and enriching goat’s milk, is perfect for newborns and babies with sensitive skin. Instead of creating bubbles like our bath wash, it creates a milky bath that will leave your bub feeling deeply moisturised and oh-so-soft. It can be used daily – or every time your baby has a bath.
When your baby is older they’ll want to rub-a-dub-dub in a bath full of bubbles, and our Baby Bath Wash is perfect for just that. And it’s free from nasties like SLS and SLES foaming agents and Paraben preservatives.
When do I use the Nappy Balm and when do I use the Baby Ointment?
Think of it this way: Nappy Balm is used to treat nappy rash, while Baby Ointment is used to prevent it. The Nappy Balm’s natural active ingredient is zinc oxide, which helps to provide relief from nappy rash.
As a preventative measure, Baby Ointment can be applied after every nappy change to help prevent nappy rash. The natural oils in the ointment provide a watertight barrier on your baby’s skin, helping to protect it from coming into contact with number ones and number twos.
P.S – Thankyou Baby Ointment can also be used on dry skin patches, dry lips and other minor skin irritations!
When’s the right time to start using Baby Shampoo?
Newborn babies typically just need a gentle flannel and a dab of Baby Bath Milk or Baby Bath Wash washed over their hair during a bath. If your baby has locks of hair from the get-go, you can begin using our Baby Shampoo. You’ll know the time is right for shampoo when your baby’s hair gets harder to tame. Our shampoo is a gentle and soothing formula made with oat, chamomile, and marshmallow extracts (they’re not just for toasting!)
Avena sativa (Oat) extract is an amazing ingredient for sensitive skin as it’s been proven to protect and soften the skin as well as reduce inflammation. Chamomile is known for it’s calming properties in tea; similarly it calms the skin and is super gentle whilst maintaining balance in the skin’s natural oils. Our shampoo can also help treat babes with cradle cap.
When should I use the Mums & Bubs Massage Oil?
Our Mums & Bubs Massage Oil is a natural nourishing oil that will carry you all the way from the early days of pregnancy to after your bundle of joy arrives! This hardworking multipurpose oil combats itchiness and stretch marks as your bump grows during pregnancy. After that, it becomes an aromatherapeutic massage oil you can share with your baby to help with relaxation and bonding. The secret is… anyone in the family can use our Mums & Bubs Massage Oil, but we’ll leave this up to you! If you’re not sure how to give a baby massage, we think you’ll find this video helpful.
We know that mums and dads have a lot of demands on their time (tired much?!) and that multi-tasking becomes something of an art form. We also know that most parents want to find a way to extend their reach and help other parents, so our baby care range also helps get child and maternal health programs to families in need in Nepal and Zimbabwe.
