Typical day?
A “ normal day” to me is wake up, have brekky with my family then the mad rush to get Meadow ready in the car and dropped to preschool or my Mums. Then I can grab my coffee, head into the salon and begin my day at work. My days and hours change depending on my workload that week. So every week is always different! We aren’t big on routine and live quite flexibly. It just works for us and our lifestyle.

What’s the hardest part about being a parent?
Time management! Adjusting between work life, wife life and mum life. Making sure the balance is good, plus always remembering time for me! Because I’m still the same person as I was pre-baby and you have to learn to not lose yourself, just adjust and find your right balance.

What’s the one thing you wish you’d been told about being a parent?
I feel like you’re always getting told things/getting lots of options on things when you’re becoming or you are a parent. I can’t really say I wish I was told anything specific because every experience and journey is different when you’re raising a little human. I feel like no one is ever fully prepared to become a parent for the first time. But if I had to pick something it would be enjoy sleep and be as selfish as you like and take those day naps!

What’s the most unexpected thing about being a new parent?
To learn that everyday is different and never get too excited when your baby sleeps through one night!

What’s one thing you do to sometimes just get through the day and make things easier?
Read or bake! It’s me zoning out of my daily routines and switching off.

What are the key things you look for in babycare products?
What the product is made up of, like no chemicals, parabens and not tested on animals!

Hannah's questions for Thankyou

How do you decide which countries the profits/help will go to?
We play a role in helping to end global poverty by working with impact partners to reach marginalised people living in extreme poverty, which is defined by people living on less than $1.90 a day or sustained material deprivation of basic needs defined by the UN.

To date, we’ve funded programs in 20 countries including a local program in Australia. If you want more detailed info on how we choose our project partners (which also has an affect on which countries we fund in) check out this info on our impactful partnerships:

For the Thankyou baby range, we’re really proud to say we’ve funded safe births and healthcare in Nepal and Zimbabwe for over 183,000 mums and bubs in need.

How are the baby wipes made?
Our wipes are made with pure artesian water (that we get from a pristine glacier). They are thick and textured (so they hold more ‘stuff’) and free from irritants like sulphates, petrochemicals, parabens, soap, alcohol and fragrance. The formula is also hypoallergenic, so it safe for your baby’s skin.

What was the first product/products to be made?
Thankyou started as a bottled water company in 2008. Our co-founder, Daniel was 19 at the time and was researching for a uni assignment when he came across two shocking statistics - 900 million people (at the time) didn’t have access to safe water, while at the same time Australians spent $600 million on bottled water annually.

Marrying these two extremes together, Thankyou was born with a bottled water product that funds water and sanitation to people in need. Since then we’ve expanded to personal care (body wash, scrub, sanitiser and lotion) and baby products (nappies, bath wash, wipes, lotions) that fund water and sanitation and child and maternal health respectively.

The overall goal for Thankyou is to make great products and commit 100% of the profits to help end global poverty. We also have an Innovation Team dedicated to improving our products and seeking out new ones to meet customer needs.

Hannah's fave Thankyou Baby Care product

Baby Bath Wash

"It is so gentle on the skin. For example, once Meadow had a nappy rash instead of using her Thankyou Bath Wash my husband used another supermarket brand on her. The nappy rash instantly was aggravated and causing so much discomfort to her, it definitely made it worse because of the harsh chemicals in supermarket body wash.

The following day at bath time I was hesitant to use anything at all on her as I was scared it would hurt/sting her but I used the Thankyou Baby Wash and she didn’t even flinch or know anything was on her. It goes to show how gentle this product is! I love it!"

Our ingredients are derived from nature, baby.

Baby Care that Cares

Every 103 seconds a mother dies in childbirth. Globally, 2.7 million babies don’t make it through their first month of life every year because they don’t have access to basic health care.

We reckon that’s pretty messed up. That’s why our baby range helps get life-changing health services like immunisation programs, training of skilled midwives and medical supplies to mums and bubs in need.

So on behalf of all the lives you’re changing when you choose Thankyou, we say thank YOU!
